The Chosen Words; Unscrambled and Revealed

Seekers of The Truth in the Written Word;

Prepare your minds for a healthy dose of reading. Our next book discussion will be during our week at da beach.Plan to carve out some special time to enrich our manly souls and languish in goodhearted nature and tomfoolery that is reserved but for our kind. I have no plan other than cheez-its.

"Do you want to play a game?"Don't look for this blog note to reveal the book or author.

The title and author of this 29 year old heralded novel lies buried, scrambled under your feet.
You will have to dig it up like the literary treasure of prose it surly is. No metal detector will be able to locate this script. The map to your treasure is buried on your property. Your sense of anticipation and discovery will accumulate as does the dirt under your fingernails as you search for the written word. Seekers, what your hands will soon find will require your keen minds to reveal. Truth lies hidden.... but is always within our grasp.

You will require clues to this discovery. The exact location of your buried treasure is described individually below.

You have three clues:
(1)  "Tis an out of season Tale to be discovered;
(2) Mark... my words;
(3) Search due north seekers; turn your jaw to face the coming Winter's chill

Declaration of Advance Meeting Notice:  Due to the length of this book, nearly 700 count'em pages, our book review at the beach will encompass about half of this great transcript; i will plan a follow-up meeting to complete the book review at a later date. This will net us more meetings and more reading and ample time to complete the book for thoughtful review.

Readie McPageturner - dig one yard due north from the light pole in your front yard.
Count Lapiz Von Pluma - It is buried due north one yard from the fire pit down by the river.
Lord Lloyd De Papel - dig 1 yard due north from the telephone pole along the fence in your back yard.
Danny Love - walk off the elevator to the 7th floor, rooftop terrace; proceed north for 20 steps; dig at your feet.
Master Lieb Schmear - Dig 1 yard due north from the last loose brick on the edge of your ground cover.

Now go forth ye Seekers of the Written Word with your ample codpiece in hand.

A wonderful truth awaits your discovery.

In the moment I am,
Pompous de la Pundit

Bravo Pompous! Your delivery techniques never cease to amaze me! I think it's a great idea to digest 50% of this epic yarn in time for BB2012. It's something we haven't done before, and it will certainly encourage mucho discussion. I know nothing about your choice, but eagerly await its arrival from the rain forest of online retail giants.
I have to admit that I was able to decode the email to reveal the book. I have been digging up my yard for 2 days straight without success! I even employed an eager 3 year old to get in on the action. He has come up empty handed to date! I'll put him back down the mine shaft later!

Really enjoying the parchment so far Pompous. So well written.

Do you have a page number that you'd like us all to get to for the meeting? Say 350 or something like that. I want to make sure I reach the same point in reading as everyone else in the council.

Thanks for the timely comment LL; right on. Can everyone make the read through Chapter II, my book page 356?
I also must say the guy can thrown down some pretty elaborate descriptions and has a spiritually complex imagination.

Partial book review of Winter's Tale will be held at Readie's Deck this Friday, September 21st at 8:27 p.m. I tried for a rooftop setting in the city along the river to fit the imagery in the novel. But alas my plan faltered. But not to worry. Readie has graciously agreed to have the meeting and review at his place on the deck. The panoramic view afforded from his deck is as mystical as anywhere. Thank you Readie. The evenings weather looks to be mild, high 60's.
I have everything we need for the official meeting. Read up!!

I recently became aware that The Winter's Tale is being made into a movie. I believe having read this lengthty novel only serves to further distinguish the MOP from the "Commoners". That being said, read heartily Boys so we can be well prepared for an animated discussion for the fast approaching MOP meeting November 10th; location TBD'd. WE ARE WHAT WE READ.

Short Tails,
Our book review is planned for this Friday around 7:22 at the Farmhouse. I will be home alone abandoned by my homemaker who is off to a grander duty, if one can imagine exists, in the northwest territory. FYI, Weather is suppose to warm up for the weekend with overnight in the 40's v. 30's Friday. As such I present you an option or my name isn't Praeger de la Pundit; Saturday evening same time, same place. Either night a variety of marshland delicacies will accompany a fine cigar and first class libations over a homegrown fire. Do let me know if you prefer to move the gathering of this mystical book review to Saturday evening v. Friday. Perhaps some of you would benefit from an additional day in the page???
Send a sign to let me know. It is all or none for the change to occur or my name isn't Pompous de la Abysmillard.

Friday works best for me.

Go forth...

We stay the course for the Friday meeting. We will secure our spot around the patio firepit and search for magical signs in the night sky to calibrate justice in the epic tug of war between good and evil. Dinner fare will include Peter's favorite.

Sounds like an epic evening. I wish I could be in attendance, as always. Andy Slawecki and his new bride will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend, so I will be off the radar, but there in spirit. One of the biggest 'pros' of getting closer (aka Athens) is to get back to being a part of the MOP.

Wish I was going to be there to close out this epic tome. I am also looking forward to seeing the film ( starring will smith, Russell Crowe, and Colin Farrell) and having yet another discussion. But, alas, I must be about my business out west. It is truly for the greater good
