Hello gentlemen,
I hope you are all enjoying the latest piece of parchment as the summer commences. I know everyone is super busy so I want to try to nail down a date for the next council. If it is going to be a weekend, August 3rd would be my suggestion. I would love to host you guys down here in Old Town if that is possible. I know that might be tough for everone's schedules but Hanna will be out of town so we could be free of the lady-folk. Anybody would be welcome to stay but it could also work for just a day trip. If that doesn't work, I could also make the trip home to Camp Hill if that would be easier.
So, I guess let me know about that date and about the journey to Old Town and then we can take it from there.
adios

I'm already booked for a PSU reunion all day and night on August 3rd so that won't work for me. I can do July 13, 20, 27 or August 10. Do any of those dates work for the group?
July is booked for me. August 10th could work if it works for others?
The only date I cannot do is July 13th. Hopefully July 20th, 27th, or Aug 10th will work for us all. That being said I would rather have the meeting in GeoTwn asap v. prolonging the date. It's a great book. I'd like to tighten up the timeframe between book disclosure and meetings to net more frequent gatherings of like minded souls. I acknowledge it is perhaps easier for me to make time but hey, no one said it would be easy or fair.
August 10th is clear for me. I will be a year older and also much wiser by then to.
August 10th works for me
Morning gents, you'll have to count me out of this one. Six hours, while not 12, is still a long way, and we'll already have put on 10 six-plus hour trips on our vehicular this summer. I guess I'm still going to be an absentee MOP member for the immediate future...until the job at F&M opens up. Apologies. I have been enjoying the book, for what it's worth.
So, I would like to make August 10th official! We can celebrate Dominican style and ramble with our Spanglish down here in Old Town. I know that is short notice and hopefully everybody can finish the book and make it. Anybody is welcome to stay the night. FYI, the Phillies are also in town that weekend!
If you all could confirm one more time, we can pencil it in as a definite.

Just to confirm that I will not be able to make this gathering of well-endowed intellectuals. Have fun in old town...
I'm looking forward to meeting in Old Town on August 10th to discuss third world issues. Do i sense a conflict with the Phillies?
Lord Lloyd will be there.
Master Lieb will be attending.
Margraff McPageturner shall be in attendance.
Gentlemen,
The time grows near! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am excited about seeing you all this Saturday. I appreciate the offers to postpone but nothing can be more strengthening than a meeting of great minds.
As for the plan for the day...that might have to be a little more spur of the moment, depending on the weather and how I am feeling after treatments. We can definitely plan on having the discussion at our apartment with some good rono dominicano and some carribbean treats. Aside from that, maybe a lunch and/or dinner or an outing in Old Town? Maybe a tour of the Mason temple....in honor of their great secrecy? Or maybe we just hang in. Any which way, it will be great and I am looking forward to having you guys down here.
On a side note, for those of you still trying to finish Oscar, I found a great website that translates all of the spanish and other references chronologically throughout the book. It is really helpful. Here is the website:

Look forward to seeing you all in a few days!
Indeed brother-the day and the hour are almost upon us. Tomorrow the 'Harrisburg Four' will descend upon Old Town much like the Cuban Invasion of 1959.
The Four still need to work out our travel arrangements, but is there anything we need to bring with us to make our stay more like a luxury home in Miami, and less like a love motel in Banî? Assuming we are spending overnight (and I'm not sure if that has yet been decided) - should we bring an air mattress, pillows, sheets etc.? Or should we simply arrive at your door holding our enormous codpieces in one hand and our parchments in the other?
Good day brothers,
So, the time grows near and I want to get a little more specific about the plan for tomorrow's gathering. I am feeling pretty well so I think that this is going to be a good time. My suggestion for the day is as follows:
You guys could arrive to Old Town around 11:30 and plan to do the book discussion (with beverages and some dominican fare of course) from about noon to 2. Parking will be no problem...we have a spot in the parking lot on the weekends (its spot #90). Then there are tours of the Masonic temple that should be neat...it takes you up to the tower. The tour is at 3:00 and is $8 and first come first serve. Mabye we can learn something from our mason brothers. Then I think it is off to drinks/happy hours/dinner. There is a Carribbean place up the street called Mango Mike's (http://www.mangomikes.com/) which also happens to be the same Mango's that is in Bethany at the Boardwalk....this can't be a mere coincidence. So we could make a repeat appearance next week. Or, we could just go anywhere on King Street in Old Town if we don't feel like driving. Maybe Hanna could join us for dinner at that point if we feel like letting a woman in?
Then it is totally up to you guys if you want to hang around some more, stay out some more, smoke some cigars, and stay over night. By the way, do you think somebody could bring cigars with them? I haven't been able to get any. If not, we can buy them in Old Town, but I just thought somebody might have some laying around.
Like I said, you are more than welcome to stay. We have one queen air mattress with sheets and stuff so somebody would have to bring another air mattress with sheets and you guys could bring your own pillows too. It would be a fun slumber party and the invitation is there. If you stayed, we could get up and go to breakfast, or I don't know if you guys would want to hit the road early...either way.
I think that is all I got for now. Glad this is gonna work and can't wait to see you mis companeros
On second thought, maybe it will work better to do the 1:30 temple tour and have the discussion after that. Maybe it's a bit more appropriate to have cocktails deeper into the afternoon. We'll have sandwiches here or something for lunch before heading to the temple maybe around 1. We can have the discussion at 3, followed by some down time and PGA then Mango Mike's or Old Town for dinner.
Ahh, I am looking forward to the smoke rings. We'll have cigars in tow and check into #90 around 11;30We'll have a few sleeping bags in reserve just in case night should turn to day in Alexndria.
