Fahrenheit 451 - Special MOP 

A special edition MOP book burning is scheduled this Holiday Season. Let's gather at The Farmhouse to celebrate our good fortunes and blessings as we discuss Ray Bradbury's novel, Fahrenheit 451, Friday, December 14th. Anytime after 6:00. 

We'll dine on freshly killed and grilled venison heart with trimmings. A special bottle of reserved hearty red wine will accompany the game after an introductory holiday cocktail classic. The patio chiminea will provide an element of warmth to an anticipated cold early winter evening. 

The novel to discuss is Ray Bradbury's Classic Fahrenheit 451. The focus of the novel is prophetically timely as our social culture is increasingly dominated by the visual. Books can become irrelevant. No! No book we have read has substantiated our Reason to gather more than Bradbury's novel which acknowledges the cerebral value and intrinsic mission of the MOP; Seeking Truth in the written word! 

Bring a book to toss in the fire in honor of the novel. Perhaps This small token gesture will add to our appreciation for the loss of the written word as described in the novel. 

Let's also plan to describe what book you would commit to memory if social censorship forced us to commit a novel to memory like in the novel. 

Should be interesting. We have so much to share and so much to celebrate.

Can gilded men speaking with pomposity of their beastly endowments and commensurate codpiece understand an unseen mystery that is harbored within us like a virus?

Gentlemen! I declare it's time we take a bite of the proverbial apple. Our apple Boyz!

While the good wench Eve may have exploited our weakness thereby casting the lot of mankind into Satan's Vale of Tears, it is time to awaken the sleeping giant that slumbers within. It is time men of men as we are become acquainted with the Who that accompanies us. It is time to question and ponder the mysteries that men of common girth fear and let unanswered.

We will explore grey matter together. We will take a step forward to understand the unharnessed power of our mind as only Men of the Parchment could entertain.

This is not a read for the weaker sex. Only gifted few will be able to fathom the depth that lies buried in oneself.

Be A Man, Read More Poetry!

A very prosperous and scholarly New Year to my brothers of the parchment! My first New Year's resolution proposition to you all is this, "Be a man, read more poetry!" That being said, here is your first mission of the new year... After reaching out to me and identifying yourself with your MOP moniker indicating you have read this post, each of you will receive an individual message guiding you to a particular book at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore. Within each of your separate books at the scholar, you will come across a distinct, unique word. Using your camaraderie and superior intellect, you will decipher the title of your next parchment by linking your words together in the proper sequence! Lest this book title fall into the wrong hands (say an unassuming wench, ignoramus, or someone of diminutive codpiece) it is of utmost importance to maintain full secrecy upon your operation! So act covertly and in haste before your words are discovered by the common fool! There is no need to go to the bookstore together, but there is a need for you to communicate with each other to piece together the title. Go forth ye seekers of the written word! Hmmmmmmmmmmm!
